SKETCH ANALYSIS
ARCHITECTURE HISTORY & THEORY
The objectives of this project:
-
To allow students to undertake a research comparative analysis process on Modern Malaysian architecture practices throughout history through literature review and document analysis and present an appropriate chronological account of the Malaysian architecture based on the understanding gained through the analysis procedure.
Task
This is an individual assignment. I was required to draw 5 Historical Malaysian buildings from the given list. Draw and showcase their architectural features.
FINAL OUTCOME
The evolution of architecture is traced across numerous geographical locations, encompassing aesthetic fads, and historical periods. The historical diversity produces an extremely lively architectural fabric. However, there is a chance that many old structures will be torn down to make place for more modern structures.
So, by observing, cataloguing, and studying the structures, we may help to preserve the historical records of the priceless historical architecture.
Five historical buildings in Malaysia were picked, and sketches and architectural analyses were discussed.

TAYLOR’S GRADUATE CAPABILITIES
Like the previous assignment, this one allows me to learn more about the background, history, architects, site analysis, architectural layout, building construction, material analysis, and architectural elements of historical buildings in Malaysia. This assignment also helps me practise drawing sketches by hand. I learn about many new buildings, especially those that are located outside of my area. The information I learned about the historical building architecture of our nation was incredibly fascinating. Due to the fact that we were required to sketch on A4 paper despite having a lot of material to include in the report, this project also taught us about composition.
