The objectives of this project:

To identify specific energy efficient strategies and its implementation .

To describe and understand the significance of energy demands and its impact in low energy buildings particularly.
Task
In a group of 5, we are to select a precedent study of Low Energy Building/Net Zero (Residential/Hospitality/Institution/Office/Commercial) of our choice from an existing building locally or internationally . Then, Discuss the impact of the energy efficient strategies implemented to the built environment on the global scene and understand how these strategies affect the energy demands in the chosen building.
PROGRESS OUTCOME
In this project, I teamed up with Shad Abdelazim, Vanessa Chia, Tan Zhi Xian and Goh Pei Hua to conduct a research on a precedent study of Low Energy Building of our choice from an existing building locally or internationally. First, we did some research about low energy buildings online and decided on our research building, which is the Bee'ah Headquarters in Sharjah. We chose this building as it is United Arab Emirates first on-site net zero building which uses net-zero energy compared to a conventional building.
We presented our findings in an infographic video attached below. In the video, we discussed the impact of the energy efficient strategies implemented to the built environment on the global scene and understand how these strategies affect the energy demands in the chosen building. We also discussed the energy efficient strategies on Façade, Lighting System, HVAC System, Waste Management, Renewable Energy used, and Waste Management of the building using graphs, text, images, infographics, doodles etc.

In this second project we in a group of five are to select a precedent study of Low Energy Building of our choice from an existing building locally that is approved by our tutors. The building we had chosen is the Bukit Bintang City Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
We have to describe and discuss the impact of the energy efficient strategies implemented to the built environment on the global scene and understand how these strategies affects the energy demands in the chosen building.

TAYLOR’S GRADUATE CAPABILITIES
Through this project, I learnt how to describe the impact of the built environment on the global scene in an interesting and informative way. I now understand the impact of energy demands in buildings and also identified the principles of energy efficient systems in architecture and building technology. My takeaways are that we, as future architects, should implement energy efficient strategies when designing a building as it is our responsibility as an architect and a member of society to care for mother nature.
Through Assignment 1, I cooperated with my groupmate to complete our assignment. I have learnt that compromising and respecting each other is important to achieve a good outcome.
