Architectural Design Project (ADP)
The objectives of this project:​

Develop a short yet concise and comprehensive studies on site aligning it to the theme of architecture with an impact, align to the needs of people, place, and time.

Conduct pre-design studies and analysis to inform the design project.
Task
In this assignment, we get to analyze and study our site ( Site 2 - Jalan Magazine ) at George Town, Penang as a group. In the site analysis, we shall investigate and understand elements of people, place and project to help us immerse ourselves into the site. These will help us understand the current situation of the site and produce a concept for an impactful 'Urban Room' for the local community.
FINAL OUTCOME
In this phase, we in a group (Ar. Lee Sze Ee) are to investigate, study and analyze the site to understand valuable components before designing. We decided to approach the site analysis with a social aspect to analyse the changes in George Town, Penang then provide a solution to retrieve the site.
REFLECTION
TAYLOR’S GRADUATE CAPABILITIES
This site investigation was evidently more complex than previous site analyses in which we were limited to just data compilation and analysis. Now we have to conduct an in-depth observation of urban and contextual studies, which I personally did find enlightening and I wish to read more on the topic for future site investigations, and for my own general knowledge.

I found the main challenge in this project was the designated time to collect data, compile the data and discuss as a group to reach a conclusion. As a group, we all had different views on the site and reaching a conclusion turned out to be slightly difficult. We proceeded to agree on a conclusion once we were able to bring all ideas to the table. Our tutor was able to assist on how to go about with the conclusion, as we went through our SWOT analysis with him. From which we were able to gain an insight in how to proceed with the conclusion and position-taking.
