DESIGN STRATEGIES & EXPLORATION
Architectural Design Project (ADP)
The objectives of this project:
-
To explore brief which will inform and set the design parameters for the design.
-
To develop a design strategy (to the level of explorative design phase) for your proposed project.
-
To produce a design which is well explored and optimized to an appropriate resolution.

Task
Project 1B is intended to initiate the individual design process towards the Urban Room. For this, we were required to begin exploring our design approach, concept, theme, proposed programme, and preliminary floor plans and design based on our Project 1A analysis, conclusion and position taking.
PROGRESS OUTCOME
In this stage and upon clearly understanding the 3P: people, place, and project, students will take the project to the next phase individually. Explore design ideas within the proposed function for the Urban Room by looking into multiple angles and possibilities from the concept, planning, and aesthetic

REFLECTION
TAYLOR’S GRADUATE CAPABILITIES
I started the design process by reviewing the data and analysis from Project 1, compiling ideas and finding precedents. Despite having a plethora of ideas to explore, I did have some difficulties with this stage of the project, mostly in deciding the programme.

The feedback I was given by Ms Lee Sze Ee was indeed very helpful and motivated me to get back to it right after the submission and look over my ideas and design strategies again so I can have a smoother design process, starting with a solid programme for which I was advised to narrow down and ensure it is relevant and impactful to the community of the site.
